At just 16 years old, Atukwatse Rinah is already dreaming big. A Senior Two student with a deep passion for Chemistry and ICT, Rinah finds joy in research and discovery every time she sits behind a computer. But her ambitions go far beyond the classroom—she dreams of becoming a surgeon.
This dream was born out of personal tragedy and global crisis. Rinah vividly remembers the fear and helplessness during the COVID-19 pandemic. She watched as countless lives were lost, and her own grandmother nearly became one of them. The experience left a mark on her young heart and a resolve to be part of the solution especially for countries like Uganda that struggled to access vaccines in time.
Rinah is a single orphan. Her father passed away when she was just two years old, and she was raised by her mother and grandmother, whose love and strength continue to shape her. Football has become her outlet and source of resilience which gives her the mental strength to push through challenges and keep moving forward.
Through it all, Nyaka has been the foundation of her journey.
“I am grateful to Nyaka for the opportunity they gave me to access free education since primary school and now through high school,” Rinah shares.
“Nyaka has not only given me an education, but they’ve also made it easy for me by providing every material I need to thrive in school.”
