At Kutamba Primary School, three friends (Dickens, Emmanuel and Edgar) are beginning the term with lots of excitement and big dreams for the future.
For Dickens, a Primary Four learner, returning to school means returning to a place of learning and friendship. “I am excited to return to my school because it has a well-stocked library and good teachers,” he says. Mathematics is his favourite subject, and he is working to improve in Social Studies. He is especially proud that he can now communicate in English and hopes to become a pilot one day.
Emmanuel, a Primary Five learner, also finds motivation in the school’s supportive environment. “Kutamba has good teachers,” he shares. He enjoys Mathematics and hopes to strengthen his Social Studies this term. His other friend Josheab encourages him to study seriously, while break time offers a chance to play netball with friends. Emmanuel dreams of becoming an engineer.
For Edgar, another Primary Five learner, the return to school brings happiness and renewed purpose. He enjoys Social Studies and looks forward to improving in Mathematics. He values his teachers and time spent playing football with friends. This year, Edgar is proud that he has become able to communicate in English – an achievement that is giving him confidence as he works towards his dream of becoming a doctor.
Although their ambitions are different, the three boys share a commitment to making the most of the final term. To everyone who supports Nyaka students, their message is simple: thank you for continuing to help children access education.
